Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Renowned for its breathtaking beauty and as the home of the critically endangered mountain gorillas, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is one of Uganda’s most famous and must-visit destinations. A UNESCO World Heritage site, Bwindi is home to roughly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorilla population. Visitors can engage in the life-changing experience of gorilla trekking, where, with the help of expert guides, they trek through the dense, mist-covered forest to encounter these majestic creatures in their natural habitat.

Queen Elizabeth National Park

Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of Uganda’s largest and most diverse protected areas, offering a thrilling mix of wildlife, scenery, and cultural experiences. Located in the western part of the country, it is home to a wide variety of animals, including the famous tree-climbing lions of Ishasha, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, and over 600 species of birds. A highlight of Queen Elizabeth is the Kazinga Channel, a waterway that connects Lake George to Lake Edward. It is best known for being the source of the Nile River, and offers a range of thrilling outdoor activities, including white-water rafting, bungee jumping, and boat cruises on the Nile. Visitors can also explore the nearby Mabira Forest, a biodiversity hotspot with canopy walks, cycling, and birdwatching.
